Call From God?

Hello God. How are things in Heaven? Heaven is fine, but You are concerned about Earth? We, in the United States, aren't giving you a reason to be concerned. Are we? What do you mean, we are not the God fearing people who moved to this land? I imagine things have changed some in the past 225 years. But we still believe in You and worship You-when we get a chance. It's just that we have to stay so busy now-a-days. It's not easy like it was 200 years ago. There's a lot of things to occupy our time. You say You've tried to get our attention, but we're just not listening to you? What do you mean?

No Sir! We are not murdering people! We have laws in this country! The United States is a civilized Nation. Now, we didn't really expect you to understand about that. I realize the word abortion was not around when You wrote the Ten Commandments. You see, You said, thou shall not kill; we're not killing. An unborn baby is not a human being. He is not totally out of his mother's body. If he was completely born, I could see how You could call it murder, but he lacks about ten inches being completely outside his mother. You can see, can't You, that it's not murder? You see when You were defining words, You didn't give a definition for abortion. So, we had to define it. We have a great legal system in our country. Rarely does a person get a way with murder, and they agree that abortion is not murder. So, You must be mistaken. Actually we are doing the "thing" a favor anyway. He is not wanted in the first place. But surely, You wont call that murder. You say that people down here have a way of twisting things around to suit themselves? What are You talking about now?

Now that's where You are wrong. It is an alternate life style. People feel they can do what they want to do.

Rom 1:24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. Rom 1:25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. Rom 1:26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. Rom 1:27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Yes I have heard of Sodom and Gomorrah, but we aren't like them. Are we?

Gen 19:1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. Gen 19:2 "My lords," he said, "please turn aside to your servant's house. You can wash your feet and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning." "No," they answered, "we will spend the night in the square." Gen 19:3 But he insisted so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast, and they ate. Gen 19:4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom--both young and old--surrounded the house. Gen 19:5 They called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them." Gen 19:6 Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him Gen 19:7 and said, "No, my friends. Don't do this wicked thing. Gen 19:8 Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don't do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof." Gen 19:9 "Get out of our way," they replied. And they said, "This fellow came here as an alien, and now he wants to play the judge! We'll treat you worse than them." They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door. Gen 19:10 But the men inside reached out and pulled Lot back into the house and shut the door. Gen 19:11 Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, young and old, with blindness so that they could not find the door. Gen 19:12 The two men said to Lot, "Do you have anyone else here--sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here, Gen 19:13 because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it."

You see, God was willing to spare Sodom if only one righteous man could be found in the city. Yet, there was none. We can call it what we want to, but God has his own name for it; SIN. We have a "funny" way of dealing with sin. If we get enough people to say it's ok, then it's ok. The thing we don't realize is that God's vote is the only one that counts. Sodom can testify to that. When we sin, and we all sin, we should repent-and turn from our sin. Instead we justify it and try selling it to others. It's not murder-it's abortion. It's not sexual sin-it's an alternate life-style. Call it what you will. GOD CALLS IT SIN. And the penalty for sin is death. God's people need to turn back to Him. If we do, there is a promise....

2 Chr 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Our land needs healing. Floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, droughts....are we bringing it on ourselves? Decide today whom you will serve. To be undecided, is to be decided.
